Brisbane is a very picturesque city, the Downtown area being built onto a point of land bounded on three sides by the Brisbane River. The Botanical Gardens provide a wonderful oasis at the southern end of the Brisbane Downtown area. Following the coast to the north of Brisbane is Noosa and the Sunshine Coast. North of Brisbane lies the very popular Australia Zoo, the legacy of Steve Irwin.

The Gold Coast

Brisbane is the gateway to the Gold Coast, with its many family attractions. While it is a built up area with many high rise apartment and hotel buildings at Surfers Paradise, the nightlife and restaurant options are very good, and a number of high profile Theme Parks are close by to provide the perfect family holiday.

To the west of Brisbane is the Lamington National Park Lamington National Park with its amazing wildlife and colourful birds. Lamington National Park is a sub-tropical rainforest area that offers the opportunity to get up close to a lot of Australian wildlife in the wild.
