It also extends its fingers through dozens of suburbs, past nature reserves, beside high rise apartment buildings and in front of multi-million dollar homes, dockside restaurants and shopping areas.

It is a busy port, a naval base and home to Sydney's fleet of commuter and sightseeing ferries. It is also home to one of the world's greatest concentration of yachts, ranging from small single sail craft to ocean going, heavyweight racers and blue water cruisers.
