Destination Highlights
Melbourne
There is something for everyone in Melbourne. As you fly in, you will be struck by the contrast between the downtown city high rise buildings, the blue stretch of Port Phillip Bay and the surrounding countryside that stretches in every direction.
Whether you are into dining, fashion, arts, culture or history Melbourne will tick all the boxes, and you don’t need to drive far before finding yourself in stunning nature and wilderness. Melbourne is a cultured city with wide streets and boulevards, and trams (streetcars) that are an efficient mode of public transport.
A well defined river frontage and docklands precinct, street cafes, excellent shopping and friendly, interesting people make it well worth including in your Australian Trip of a Lifetime. It is a city of contrasts, showing you the locals at work and play.
Great Ocean Road
Wildlife, scenery, and dramatic coastline, the Great Ocean Road has it all. The Great Ocean Road today is one of the major attractions from Melbourne and includes the Cape Otway National Park rainforest and wildlife experience with the coastal scenery of Loch Ard Gorge, London Arch and the Twelve Apostles. When you see the Twelve Apostles standing out in the surf, you appreciate the power of the ocean to carve away the land. The giant pillars of sandstone are all that is left after the water eroded the coast into arches. A must-see.
